The Racecourse

The present total capacity for the Racecourse is 15,500 comprising of 10,500 seats over three stands and 5,000 capacity in the Kop which is standing only at present.

Of the 10,500 seats, 3,800 of these are available in the Eric Roberts (Builders) stand behind one of the goals for away fans.

Over the years the ground has been developed and improved considerably, leaving just the Kop opposite the away end as a terrace. However, with the club due to be sold, it is believed that to raise revenue, the area behind that stand will be developed into housing and the Kop become an all seater stand.

The Kop once was able to hold around 15,000 people at capacity, however, now the club only has capacity to hold around 5,000 fans in the terrace.

Recent ground development has seen the completion of the new Price Griffiths Stand, named after a former Chairman. Other changes saw seating emerge where the old terraced areas were below the Yale and Eric Roberts (Builders) Stands.

The Price Griffiths Stand has a capacity for 3,500, disabled facilities, bar facilities, and corporate sponsorship boxes, and has now been a part of the current ground for 5 years, being completed in 1999.

The record attendance at The Racecourse is 34,445 v Manchester United in an FA Cup 4th round tie on 26th January 1957, although this season's current attendances are just short of 5,000.
